Let's focus on opportunities

Dear Woods-N-Water News and all hunters:

I would agree with Jim Larson and John Eberhart's views on crossbows if the DNR were to allow the seasons to over lap the same way muzzleloading season does in the late bow season. Plus, if it were a separate season with separate tag requirements it would help the State of Michigan in two ways: manufacturing of equipment and the sale of the new cross bow permits.

How much revenue this would bring in I don't know, but any time we can chase whitetails it is a good thing. The season could start January 1 and run through January 15.

Michigan hunters need to stick together. Extending deer season by two weeks for the "would be crossbow season" would not hurt anyone and would be beneficial to all of those who would partake in the season. Michigan's DNR would get a good shot of much needed revenue...so let's stop arguing over the equipment used in hunting and focus on expanding our opportunities.

Good hunting and stay safe out there!
