Letís focus our attention on the Asian Carp

Dear Woods-N-Water News:

There's been a lot of attention to VHS, I'm all for slowing VHS down which is all we can do, as fish and birds will spread it, but the fish can build immunity to VHS. Lake St. Clair had a VHS kill, fishing is still top shelf. Now when Asian Carp move into an area they quickly become 90% or more of the fish population and unlike VHS once Asian Carp become 90% or more they generally stay 90% or more of the fish population! No chance for immunity, no "do overs" just Asian Carp!

I think we have more than a good chance to control Asian Carp, and rein in some of the current invasive species. However given what the future plan for Lake Michigan is, I believe we're all going to get to see what 90% Asian Carp looks like, I already have, my bet is once that happens you won't remember how to spell VHS or even care!

Sincerely

Tom Matych
