Thanks Dad, I miss you...

Dear Woods-N-Water News:

I would like to say thank you to my dad for always taking me hunting and a thank you to Woods-N-Water News for all the years that you were in camp with us.

My first year deer hunting with my father was in 1983. We would start our deer season off from home in Temperance, north of Atlanta. When we would get off the highway at exit 202, we would pull off to the right at the first gas station, fill up with gas, get a drink and a copy of Woods-N-Water News. Every year I would make sure we had our copy. I joined the army in 1990 and missed the next year due to the war in 1991 but my dad made sure he sent me a copy.

As the years went on I would miss a couple more hunting seasons due to the army. My dad always made sure I got a copy. My dad passed away this past August. My family and I will miss him forever. This year I will miss the deer season in Michigan and I will miss reading my copy in camp. But I subscribed online for two years so that I will not miss reading my Woods-N-Water News. I will miss my father and all the great times I had with him hunting. Deer season will never be the same.

Speaking of opening day, I would like to see it stay the 15th every year. I am now living in Colorado and opening day is on Saturday. You should see the hunters trying to get the best spots to hunt.

Thank you for all the years and keep them coming.
