No individual food plots;

Dear Woods-N-Water News:

Thanks to the MDNR for not approving Ed Spinazzola's food plots on public land plan. It states in the hunting guide that a person shall not do anything on state land that is perceived as staking a claim. Planting a food plot would be, especially here in zone 3 where we are lucky to have the areas we do but they are small and crowded, and now with crossbows.

Could you imagine if everyone that hunts some of these small areas plants a plot?

Already a lot of these places are hard to hunt for a respectful hunter when they try to avoid all of these treestands that are put up illegally from Sept. 1 to Jan. 1.

I do think though that Ed could help the state reorganize its efforts at the food plots that they plant in these areas, especially the ones planted from the Plainwell Office. Do we really need corn and soybeans as state food plots and then disk them under before winter?

Help those guys Ed, they need it.

Sincerely

Kevin L. Howden
