Inflated wolf weight brings story’s content into question

Dear Woods-N-Water News:

In Richard P. Smith's article in the November issue, 'Close call with wolves,' the Conservation District worker estimated the wolf at 140-150 pounds. The North American record for largest weight for a wolf is 170 lbs in Alaska 1939. (Source - Wiki). Wolves in the U.P. very rarely reach 100 pounds. This brings the entire account into question.

Sincerely

Carl Anderson
