Tell me; what is the difference between baiting and food plots?

Dear Woods-N-Water News:

I would like to thank Terry Latture of Clio for his very insightful and I believe correct assessment in his letter 'Proposal G and Bovine TB a 'cash cow.' I would only like to add that you can see a very similar pattern occurring with the CWD controversy.

The only other thing I would have like to have seen in the letter is the link between MQDM, their roles in promoting food plots and QDM. It seems there are more motives to the deer baiting ban and they all lead to lining someone's pocket.

Tell the truth; what is the difference between baiting, or drawing the deer to a ten foot by ten foot food plot, besides of course the legality? Same results different pockets.

It's time for the State of Michigan to wake up and discover that the majority of its deer hunters are not in favor of the baiting and feeding ban.

It would be wonderful if we could just hunt in the style we prefer, be it off a stump, a ground blind, treestand or stalking, over a food plot, bait pile, or oak ridge, we all have our own preference.

During the proper season it shouldn't matter whether we hunt with a stick bow, compound bow, crossbow, muzzleloader, shotgun or rifle, We are all deer hunters.

So wake up hunters. All they are doing is pitting us against each other. If we allow this our sport is all but over.

Sincerely

Ed from Irons
